Small and lightly armored, Subjugators are among the most numerous of war vessels within the multi-galactic Navy of the United Sovereignty of Nations. Being only a few hundred meters larger than a Frigate, the Subjugator has the potential to be fairly quick and nimble, with it’s agility facilitated by powerful twin engines, a multitude of conventional thrusters, and some basic anti-gravity gliding systems. Although their energy shielding array is about as powerful as a Frigate’s, their actual armor is slightly more robust, composing of several sheets of a multi-layer titanium-carbon alloy roughly five meters thick on average. Despite having an overarching primary role within the Navy, Subjugators are actually surprisingly flexible on their own. When complimented by a fleet of several ship types, the Subjugator’s role is to act as a screening unit for fighter craft, LAVs (light assault vessels), and to combat ships of similar size as they. They’re more often deployed between the gaps of larger vessels, preventing smaller enemy craft from slipping by; groups of Subjugators acting together can potentially serve as an incredibly powerful, nigh impenetrable barrier against enemy swarm tactics. However, Subjugators are also equipped with enough large weapons and other utilities to act independently for a multitude of different roles, such as being first responders, staging grounds for minor invasions, or to act as picket patrol vessels. Like most warships within the USN Navy, the Subjugator has a spinal mounted main cannon, coming in the form of a mass accelerator lance; a railgun-like weapon which fires a beam of superheated molten metal at a fraction of the speed of light. However, unlike most other capital vessels, the Subjugator also carries a secondary cannon mounted to it’s ventral side; a light photon projector. Also built into the ventral side of the Subjugator is a medium capacity hangar bay, with which dropships and shuttle craft can be deployed in space, or vehicles and soldiers when parked groundside for staging operations. Although fairly small and a little old in basic design, the support these that vessels can provide is rarely gone unnoticed, especially when multiple ships work together in cohesive action.
