imgpile is a free image and video hosting platform. Upload a file, get a permanent link, share it anywhere.

Yes. Uploads are free for everyone, with or without an account. We support the service through ads.

No — guest uploads work. Creating an account lets you manage your posts across devices, vote, comment, and use the API.

Any image or video MIME type (for example JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, MP4, WebM). Each file can be up to 100 MB.

Up to 50 files per post. You can also add more media to an existing post later.

Up to 1,000 files per day per user or IP, with a burst limit of 30 requests/minute for unauthenticated traffic and 120 requests/minute for authenticated traffic. Details are in the API rate limits section.

• Public — appears on the homepage, tag pages, search results, and your profile. Anyone can find it.
• Hidden — does not appear in any feed. Anyone with the direct link can view it; it still shows on your profile.
• Private — only accessible to you and anyone you share the full link (including the ?key=... access key) with. Not visible on your profile.

When you mark a post private, we generate a random access key and append it to the share link (?key=...). Sharing that link gives recipients one-tap access — they don't need to sign in. If you make the post public or hidden and later return to private, a new key is generated.

Yes. On the post page, owners see three buttons — Public, Hidden, Private — and can switch freely.

Deleting soft-deletes the post — it's hidden immediately and permanently removed from our storage shortly after. You can restore a post for a short window from the post page; after that, it's gone.

Yes — legal adult content featuring consenting adults is allowed, provided you mark it NSFW and comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. Some things are never allowed: sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, and anything illegal in the uploader's or viewer's jurisdiction.

On your post page, there's an NSFW toggle next to the visibility buttons. Flip it on and the post is instantly gated.

NSFW posts are hidden from the homepage, tag pages, and search results for viewers who haven't opted in. Your direct link still works, and your profile still shows the post (to logged-in viewers who have NSFW enabled).

Our moderation system may auto-mark it NSFW for you. Repeated failure to tag adult content may result in account restrictions — it's a small effort to tag, please do it.

By default, NSFW content is hidden. Turn on the NSFW switch in the top bar of any feed page to include it. Your preference persists for your session.

A few possibilities: the feed you're on may not have any NSFW posts, the account you're browsing may not have any public NSFW posts, or the toggle didn't save (check it's still on). Hard refresh the page and try again.

Public posts are scanned automatically by an AI moderation system looking for spam, abuse, and untagged NSFW. Edge cases, reports, and appeals are reviewed manually by our moderators.

It's queued for automated review. This usually completes within a minute of making a post public. If it's been longer than an hour, contact us.

"Rejected" means our system flagged the post as spam or for an AUP violation, and it has been removed from public feeds. If you believe this is a mistake, email [email protected] with the post link and we'll review.

Email [email protected] with the post link. For content involving minors, please also report to your local authorities and to the NCMEC CyberTipline.

Go to your account settings and use the "Delete account" option. All your posts are soft-deleted alongside the account and purged shortly after.

Account settings has both. For password resets without being logged in, use the "Forgot password" link on the login page.

They're deleted with the account. Public links will return 404 shortly after.
